    gold coast bream

with 2 weeks off work i thought id better make the most of my time so with light winds today (finally) i headed down to the local creek.

got started at 5:30 and got a nice bream in the first couple of casts (30cm). fished around the bridges and landed a few more. was using a gulp shrimp with a tt HWS jig head.

fished the pontoons when the tide came up a bit more. was switching between a 3" pearlwatermelon power minnow (with HWS jig head) and a smiths towadi (thanks rodrick for you great article) caught in between 15-20 more bream (only about 6 were legal, biggest was 28cm) and a few small trevally.

weather was really weird it was like 4 seasons in one day. got home at 11:30. twas a fun start to the my holidays.

Congrats mate thats a top day on the Goldie. Glad to see the article helped. I pinned a few this morning in the Tweed on towadi's, you have to be careful with them coming into summer the jacks and big gts love em too and they are pretty hard to stop on the 4lb.

    Cheers Roderick

Well done. Bream are so under-rated especially on light gear. I was also on the Gold Coast today but my visit was purely business. It is hard being so close to water and without a fishing rod. Good to see the quality in those bream too. Nice and healthy.

Good on ya Greg!! That bridge in the first pic also has a few Jacks around it come summer usually close in the the pylons and also right along the rockwall virtually at your feet (But I have fished the other side of where you were), they should give you a reel scare on the 4lb line

More good fish Greg - pity the weather has gone a bit cold, the Jacks are just starting to nose around.

That article of Rod's pushed a few of us towards the tackle shops to buy Towadi's - haven't given mine a run yet though!

Did you end up deciding to fish the Flathead Classic next week?
