Iron stems friday night

Had a change of heart at 6.30 last night and decided to go south rather than north.
Got on the water by 7.00, and motored over to pelican banks to gather some yabbies.
We had a few drifts there but no cigar, so we headed back & anchored over night at
the iron stems !
We started fishin about 9.00, still had a yabbie on the whiting rod so i threw it out, then rigged a fillet of pike on the bait runner. ZZZZZZZZZZZ off goes the yabbie, meanwhile
my deckies 6500B screamin with a hole squid on . I got a 37 cm squire, the deckie got busted So now we're both using yabbies , but i never caught another thing. my deckies rod goes off again ZZZZZZZZZZZ this time it his whiting rod 5 minutes later a nice MILF , AKA slatey 60cm .
Two minutes later another bust off on the 6500B . Just to top it of his whiting rods gone again ZZZZZZZZZ this time 39 cm slatey .
Finished up getting some sandies in the morning & home by 8.30 am

Do you leave from Redland Bay Ramp?
If so, what's the parking situation like there. Everytime I've been there for a look there are cars taking up all the trailer parks. Is it still like this?

Nice one Pitsta. There are a lot of sandcrabs around at the moment. Was fishing out in the bay today and saw a guy pull up his pot with up to 20 sandcrabs in it. He threw only a couple back and the rest were keepers.

When I was a lot younger I used to love dropping the crab pots for a feed of muddies and also the dilly nets for the sandies. But over time having one vanish after the other I eventually lost interest in it. The dishonest thieves out there just ruin it for everyone. >

I think I scored well in the missus department too. She is not a real fan of the seafood so more for me.
