    Gove beach fishing

Well i started my new job last week in gove and decided id go for a walk down the beach after work.
I knew that the fishing was good up here but i did not think i would catch something off the beach on this day as there was a gale blowing onto the beach and i was having trouble casting the popper into the wind. the waves were mucking up the water and you couldnt see 1cm into the water.
I walked down to this little headland and flicked the red and white popper as far as i could and after about 4 casts i was on a little queenfish about 45cm, i was shocked! In total i got 2 queenys about the same size and as the sun was setting i needed to head off as there was a 30min walk to get back to my room for tea.
I cant wait to get out in a boat up here and catch some bigger stuff.

Good on ya Matty, some of us poor people, (well ok, just me) are yet to see a queenie in the flesh(fins?).

Keep the reports coming, it just might entice me to take up a job offer up there.

i had some friends staying up in Nuhllumbuy a few weeks ago. Apparrently they got sick of eating spanish mackeral, then ran out of recipies for redclaw!!!! honestly, some people.

Good luck, you may never go home!!

Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. But ,flogging him into submission will result in him taking up crabbing.... and once he gets a taste of that sh*t, well, he may never return again.

FiFo will make it a bit hard to get to on foot. Yep that's the name of the creek I think but it has been about 8yrs since I was there
Here is a Google of it Use to have Very deep water, the spot I fished was on the outside and to the right of the rock as you climbed over it on a platform about 3-4 foot out of the water
