    tough day on the Coomera

hit the Coomera River on Saturday morning and met up with fellow Aus Fisher schrammy79 and his young fella. The weather was perfect, we found what looked like some good banks to target some flatties. What a tough session, after a few hours and several different spots we only had landed a less than impressive bream. And I pulled the hooks on a small flattie >. We must have thrown every SP on the market at them but it just wasn't our day .

did anyone have any luck in the Coomera on the weekend?

    Nabs,

Have you cought many flatties in the Coomera because there is some excellent banks that should fish pretty well? Not that I have fished them apart from Saturday.

Myself, Ando and his Dad have caught Flatties near some banks there a month or so back. Maybe more . Between the three of us we got around 15 or so. Ando got busted off by a 75-80cm Flattie right in front of us when I tried to land it. It's a bugger we were Breaming with 4lb leader .

The coomera goes a bit quiet when we get a little rain and the water dirties up.

I was out sunday night, and not a bite at all. First time Ive come home empty handed for ages. We had a few days of high North winds, and that wrecks it around here. I like it after southerly winds.

It still fishes well after a little rain, if its only been 1-2 days of rain, and after weeks of no rain, like today is. It does shut down when the rain is more consistant, and the mud washes down from upstream.

With the southerly change, the next 2 days should be perfect. Youve just gotta know the right spots, and catch the right tides.

Anybody interested in coming out with me early? I go at 4.30am and get back 7.30am, and do this once a week. PM me if you fish the coomera, and dont mind early starts.

    cheers

    Giday Luckstrike,
I to was out in the Coomera/Broadwater on Sat morning flicking a few soft plastics for flatties.Northerlies made it hard work.I only managed 4 flatties all around 40cm and quite small.
Tried the new bozos and looked around a bit for a few new spots.
I think I might have actually seen you guys out near the Broadwater end of the Coomera around 10am?.I was in a 445 Qinny Dory.
Some days you think is there any fish left to catch or is the Broadwater being fished out.
    Cheers

    G'day Wazza,

Yeah I remember seeing you in the Coomera flicking SP's we were the two tinnies hanging around Sovereign island amongst other places.

I haven't tried Bozo's they were probably the only ones we didn't give a go on Saturday, I will have to get some.....

hopefully we will bump (not literally I hope!!) into you again out there. Do you frequent the area?

I have found that when the water gets a bit dirty and it seems to shut down out near the mouth, come right up in to the reaches and have a crack. Even as far up as the highway bridges. Jacks do like it up there too.
You say fish, I say yes please.
