I've seen my share of jacks, though that would have to be one of the best looking ones I've seen. Good fish.

    Very nice mate.

Just got back from a terrible week in Fiji after the flathead calssic rained out every day with 35 kn winds and not one snorkel / fishing / swimming session. What a biatch.

Looks like I should've stayed home to go jack fishing!!

Got that one on a flick bait but somehow that red prawn turns up out of nowhere.

Whitey-I use as little lead as possible and fish fairly deep water mate. Usually about an eighth ounce. Minimum leader in snaggy country is 40lb but have had to go up to 60lb to stop the big ones. Even on this leader you'll get done if you're not quick.

Love that Red, well done mate, and also good karma for letting her go, it would have been hard as WE KNOW HOW GOOD THEY TASTE.

CreekVermin - how clear was the water?

At what stage did your heart jump and you say to yourself "WOOO YEAH!".
Was it when you saw the big flash of red, or when you got smashed?
You say fish, I say yes please.

Duyz72- The water was pretty murky mate. You dont get to see the fish until it breaks the surface but theres no mistaking a jack hit. Never get sick of seeing a chunk of red lying next to the boat.
