Thread: Redcliffe Squire

    Redcliffe Squire

Made a quick trip out yesterday morning to the reefs off redcliffe.
Nothing big but had a ball using plastics on the squire for the first time. Geez they fight hard on light line.
The watermelon colour worked the best in the grubs.

    Cheers

Funily enough i couldn't get a touch on the pumpkinseed.
Now that i have caught the SP bug, it's time to fill up the tackle box with a range of styles and colours.
Hopefully i can get out there again this weekend.

Nabs - Its amazing how many are out there on their kayaks. Hope its not too long a wait for you.

Never. I just can't do it. I have caught more fish and better quality fish on the SP's so that makes it even harder for me to go back to the stinky fingers. My peanut butter sandwiches taste a heap better when I go out now. If ever I get to go out with you Mike at least my side of the boat will be clean.

Sounds like you had a ball, I bat for both sides (bait & SP's)

Biggest squire 48 cm on a SP but it is also my only legal size one. Bait have caught 4 legal.

Hmmm.. sounds like Poodroo's latest challenge to convert Mike over to the dark side.
    I so enjoy a challenge.

Welcome back to Great_White too. So glad to see you posting again and glad you sorted out your logging in problems.

    Re: Redcliffe Squire

    Guys,

I haven't converted to the darkside yet. Still love fishing bait in the deeper water, but for a quick flick around the peninsula, i think the no smell/mess SP's are the go.

These weren't big fish at 40 & 37cm but great fun landing them. Now the challenge is to increase the size . The weather has a big part to play as the tinny is 3.8m, so need a good day to get out in the top of the bay.

    Cheers
