fishermandude_2006: I'm hoping for a few Barra in the next few years. Fingers crossed . Though I don't think the Salmon are a recent occurance. Apparently they were caught many years ago before heavy polution and dredging. Though I think its strage that their smaller cousins, Blue Threadfin Salmon havn't been captured along with the King Threadfin . I also beleive that Snapper and Squire only entered the Brisbane River because of the dredging which made it deeper. What are everyone else's oppinions? Maybe someone should make a sepperate thread?

Adamy, Pitsta, gregdeeth, Zach: For Salmon we bend a few rules and use bait . Don't know if I can tell you what bait and in what spots exactly .

T1: Wouldn't mind catching up and targeting a few more Salmon in the near future. School holidays arn't exactly too far away either . I'd like to see you get another one on a plastic . Though I would think differently if they preferred shallower water. Fishing from Brett's is difficult when using plastics because of heavy current and merky water. I'm thinking of trolling down and back up from Breakfast Creek with some Crazy Deep Scorpians in my kayak. How big did your one go again T? I remember the report.

Dan: Lately we have been getting lots of Bream around you know where on plastics and hardbodies . As well as the first landed and a few other dropped Salmon.

I have got a small 25cm one on a small handline fishing for Bream and Catfish on Prawn pieces at Breakfast Creek and a few slightly bigger ones in the Castnet. Though that one was the smallest one we've caught in that situation, heavy handlines, larger live baits, deep water. That's the first report about King Threadfin down this south other then up at Noosa and the Brisbane River.
