Moreton Island beaches 5th Nov to 7th Nov

Cr#p. I should have checked the water before I set up camp, by Sunday night the weed had blown in, line 2 minutes in and it sank, next 30 min spent cleaning. At high tide in the evening, I just couldn't bring myself to fish, the prospect of spending the next 30 mins cleaning the line for a 3 minute fish was a little to depressing.

Next morning a little better but not enough to keep me there. Sum total of one afternoon and evening, one tiny dart and one medium sixed dart (kept the medium in hope of a bagfull more).

De-camped to Yellowpatch. Used pippies in the avo hoping for whiting, only bites all afternoon and night were 2 small dart, went back. That evening tried bonito strips on gang hooks - nothing.

Next day went back to the Eastern beach, surf was a mess, went up the rock and cast in behind the breakers, pulled up about ten too small dart and one reef whatever fish, looked like a baby john dory, sent it back.

    So, one very expensive dart.

From the post below looks like i should have gone up Teewah.

What sort of weed were you getting at Moreton ? I didn't think that mongrel brown weed from Fraser and Double Island came down that far.
