After a couple of terrible recent sessions at Boggy Creek and Pinkenba with early starts and no fish I decided to give Nudgee Beach a try. It was a very low tide on Thursday so I waded a long way out and almost into the middle of the main channel. I started just on sun up around 4.30 am and covered a lot of ground flicking and retrieving various GULPS. I had no bites and there was no surface activity so around 5.45 am I started walking back in thinking am I ever going to get to eat flathead again. About ten minutes later I was right at the narrowest part of the channel at the mouth and I was finally rewarded with this 42cm Flathead on a GULP 3" Pumpkinseed Minnow Grub on a 1/8th 2/0 jighead. Hard work for one fish but I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else
