Hey

Decided to take our Kayak to fish around the reef at woody point hoping for my first Squire on SPs.
We launched the yak at around 6 in perfect conditions although the fishing was pretty slow.
We managed a few moses perch and a small ray which was my first one on SP and put up a pretty good fight.
After a few hours of just a few missed hits I finally hooked onto something solid and boated a 38cm squire. It put up a great fight and had me hoping all my knots would hold.

After this fish was landed we went back to shore to grab something to eat and stretch our legs. I had a quick flick landbased and managed 2 small Bream

We went back to the reefs, but there was a heap of brown muck everywhere on the water and we weren't getting any hits so we decided to call it quits.

The Squire

The Squire and Bream were all caught on 3inch Gulp Pumpkinseed minnows with a 1/12jighead.

nice fish mate.if you can get there just before first light .you should get a good run of squire.as i have found they normally go of the bite once the sun gets over morten.

great pics and conditions there mate! you ever see any sharks on the yak out there? have caught some very big girls there in that stretch. great stuff.

I was suprised at how good that first pic looks, since it was taken with my phone

Cuzza- It was the first time I have ever fished there and we didnt see any sharks..hopefully never will

That's great to hear mate! Good work!!! You'll have to convert your Dad over from the bait though
