Gold coast bream/trevally
Headed up to the goldcoast this morning with my brother. We started in the seaway with slugs to see if we could get some trevally. No hits so after about half an hour we went to the southport yacht club to flick some poppers and plastics for some bream.
First cast with the popper and the water erupted ....after a few minute's fight he landed what i believe is a big-eye trev.
I persisted with plastics then about 10 mins later he's on again....another big-eye.
I was starting to get the ships. I said, I think I am going to put a popper on too......2 winds later, bang! I'm on now...typical, trying to make me look dumb....now that is tough!!l After a short fight I land my first fish, a bream. It seemed like it was going to be a good day.
Then at about 8:30 it all pretty much stopped. No hits, no follows, no fish....eventually we went on to land 2 more bream but that was all for the day.
A pretty enjoyable day though....just a little slow late morning. Sean

Re: Gold coast bream/trevally
Thanks guys. was an OK day, the bream we got were pretty good sized fish. My bro always thinks the fish are 1 kg....I am a little more hesitant to call them for that....what is a rough guideline for a 1 kg fish? Anyone got some pics of definite 1kg fish? Sean
