Went over to the mates place on saturday morning to grab him and his boat and head out to Green for a bit. Finally the wind had dropped. No go. He was in the middle of some more glass for the Bertie 25 hes doing up. OK give me a ring when youre finished.
Got the little 14 foot runabout in the water at Tingalpa creek at 1pm. Out around King and ,,,,,Alittle bit lumpy. We will just go down in front of Wello. Ok fine by me.
Anchored up. My mate looks at the 2 rods he threw in and says "what the @#$!".
The last time they were used was by my 2 daughters catching whiting at Tin Can over a month ago. The perfect rig..Whiting hook, little sinker on top, no swivel, no leader.
Bugger it " he says. Puts a bit of squid on and casts out. By this time Ive got 2 small squire in and gone. Both on bright green plastic. Mate tosses his second rod in, whiting hook again, and his first one goes off. A bit of zzzzzz and a few grunts later there is a 38cm sweetlip in the net. What the.. Just get the fish off and his second rod goes zzzz zzzzz zzzz. More grunting .Another sweetlip, 46 cm.
Another hour of all sorts of rigs and baits and plastic produced small squire, small sweetlip, small moses. Everything was small. Except the chop. Time to go.
Took a run up Tingalpa creek for some jacks but nothing was doing. It was about then that we noticed a fair bit of water in the back of the boat. The fuel tanks were floating . Back to the ramp about 5pm.
If you want to know about the water go to Boating chat. Water Water and more Water.
