I left Nudgee @ about 4:30am Sunday heading to Mud Island. It was a bit of bumpy ride out with in the tinny. Only had a few left over pilleys from last trip so decided to drift and have another go with the SP's, although, still could not help myself and sent out a floating pilley. Well don't know if I'am a covert yet, anyhow they must work, about 5:30am there goes the rod zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz spooling line pretty quick, picked up and tightened the drag and started to regain some line, sure took some line in the first run. I got it back to the boat and finally spotted some colour, pinkey, you beauty, pictures finish the story. It went 73cm long, caught drifting on a 5" Rainbow Trout Snapback, on 15lb mono 40lb leader on the penn 4000 at Mud Island, unfortunately didn't have any mates with him, except for the thousand jellies that turned up after daybreak.

    Ah yesss, lovely catch that!

I have tried and tried but never done any good on SP's.
Just about ready to give them up.
