Tweed Lure Sesh: Jack and Trevs.

A few weeks of seeing jack after jack being caught by fellow Ausfish Members it had me seeing red last night. The weather was really strange after a Humid night turned into an early dew saturation. By 9:30 everything was covered in dew. I started off the night by putting my mates dropshot into a ceiling fan and snapped the tip off. > >

Anyway we headed down to a spot we knew the current would be running. When we arrive Trevs were smashing everywhere but a boat was there before us and a guy was casting parallel to the bridge making it difficult. After half hour the boat people left and first cast I was into a nice fish. He ran straight for the pylon but I poled him up before he could get stuck. A nice 41cm jack greeted us and it was back in the drink after a few pics. Because he was half baked he kept snapping his jaw over and over, I think he didn't like the orange glove.

We then caught a few flatties, a few tiddler Trevs and I caught an average size one on a small orange grub. We tried flicking HB's under the bridge and a small trev smashed my shad rap. Trevs have got to be the hardest fighting fish in the estuaries.

    Here are a few pics.

    Great pics.

As for trevs being the hardest fighting fish in the estuaries, true they fight very well, but IMO Jacks pull em backwards.

    Cris mate I strongly disagree.

Kg for Kg, Gt's would eat a jack for breakfast. If they were somehow joined on the same line the jack would be seen skimming along the surface like a skier and the GT would be thinkin "why is this guy following me around?"

But that's just what I think.
