LIve to Fish
Hi guys,
My largest bream was 53 cm horse from the georges river in Sydney - fiching a live yakka next to the pylons for Jews ( weighed in at 2.1 KG). the heaviest fish was from the same spot and measured 51 cm but weighed 2.3 KG.
These were caught in approx 1999- 2000. No Phots sorry.
I kept the first one which was the 51 cm model and i will never ever keep another over 35 cm... tasted like a leather boot and i had bad Mojo >for approx a year (fishing wise). Only kept him coz i was a young tacker and had hardly ever caught big fish back then.,... also had no camera and had to show friends and fams..
I know - no excuses but i am now reformed....
they were huge bastards...
Anyhow - awesome bream...fight like a freight train at that size on bream gear..
Cheers
This bream was beautiful on the chew, i find with bream the size doesnt affect the taste.. might just be me on that one though once again guys cheers!!
Joel.
What a beauty!!!
Had a week surf fishing at Brunswick Heads in Feb and caught many bream, the biggest went 1.5 kgs gilled and gutted and a few just under that but most over the kilo mark. They are a great fighting fish especially in the surf.
Congrats again - Greg
i bet you whould of had a better feeling, knowing that you released it!Originally Posted by Jacksta

Mate that fish would literally have been older then you. A Bream that size would have been easily 20+ years old. What a waste .
