    Macks in the whitecaps!

I thought the south easter would die out on Saturday morning but I was wrong. We headed out on the Bay past Mud with Grinner Frenzy and found the schoolies biting. We caught at least 12 for the morning between 4 of us and also lost a large fish which busted us off on structure. Some quality fish amongst them with the largest at 78cm and 2nd at 75cm. One fish kept for dinner and all others released. It's great to see some macks in the bay after an almost non-existant season last year. The conditions on the bay were lousy as a few have already said but GF has a Yalta 5.5 which handled the chop very well. Thanks for the trip we had a great time. Next for the longtails!

we caught a couple of schoolies a few weeks ago and 1 had the same bit missing from its tail and the other had a mark on it midway down its body, looks like it got hit by something?

p.s looks like a good year hopefully for the macs

Well done.I get very jealous reading the posts regarding the macs being caught at the moment.(should never have sold my boat).I'm tempted to put the kids floaties on to get out amongst them.

    Re: Macks in the whitecaps!

Well I have to admire anyone who will brave the windy slop in the bay to get amongst the good stuff. Your gamble paid off and you got a feed enviable by many. I am a big fan of Mackeral on the dinner plate. Well done. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
