Another tip, for those who use soft plastics but want to save a bit of cash. Go to the confectionary section at Woolworths and buy a bag of Homebrand sour worms. They work wonders.

This does not surprise me. I have caught lots of big bream at the 'Pin on beef hearts. It is an old timers' bait that I had heard about and gave a try and it was brilliant for the big blokes. Have used it a lot.
Obviously cheerios would suit the really old blokes who have lost their teeth.
This thread reminds me of an old bloke who used to fish down near the co-op* in Ballina. The first time I fished there I was amazed at how huge the breambos he caught were. His secret...large shelled king prawns...the narural food for the 'local' humdingers and it works. Bream must be more of a scavenger than we give them credit for because the more adventerous people tend to be the results still come
*co-op = seafood co-op
do you use tomato sauce on the sausages or doesnt it matter
...I think the fish would appreciate it, ahiseed or tuna oil doesn't have the same ring with cheerios!!Originally Posted by ssab1
in teh eating stakes i think id rather the cheerio's. well done though and top catch on the unusual bait, chicken skin works a treat also
Mate gota say I'm not surprised. One one the reasons I don't fish for or eat bream is that they will eat anything. When I pick up my dog's morning deposts I toss them into the creek behind my place and as soon as it hits the water the bream are all over it. Talk about waist recycling
Rainbow Trout is NOT skittle flavoured fish.........
