Hi all
I am a lover of the big barra of the impoundments to the north but when around home I am a great lover of the Noosa river manly the top section, so after a week up North My mate and I headed up the Noosa River for a over night session never have fished the area properly we did not know what or where to go.
We started to flick lures around the snags hoping to get a hit just to say we where in the right spot. At a short drift a small Bull shark jumped meters from us warning us not to think about swimming, leave it to the back packers
We had a few cast when schools of trevalley around 36 to 46 cm were hitting the lures frantically, these little buggers fight hard on light gear and are great sport, so as night fell it was time to attach the live bait and see what was lurking around.
Catfish began to take the bait big buggers aswell, 70cm they are a pain but still kept us ammused. so we moved back to the original position and lobbed out the bait, well I was in JACK 47CM hit he took me in the snags and tried his best but with luck I got him, so a few pics and he swam free, then i lobbed out again wack, missed him and wack again 44 cm Jack I was having a blinder, time for bed.
Woke up to a dew covered blanket and fish moving all over so on with the lures, we worked the snags again smack, another trevalley, then my turn again at first i thought another Jack but it was a Estuary Cod they pull hard and that was enough, we were tired and pulled the pin. so the talley was, 5 trevalley, 2 Jacks , 1, Estuary Cod, 5 Catties, and a size Mud Crab on a live mullet ? What a great session cheers to my mate for the trip I had a ball!
Cheers TT
