    Landed my first Jack

Landed my first Jack this morning just on dawn on a popper. It was undersized, and yes it did go back, but i was still happy to get one under my belt. Got it under the Pacific Motorway on Tallebudgera Creek. I was really happy that I got it on my 3rd cast on a new rod I got particually for Jacks.

    Ya for me

Not a bad start with the new zillion mate. Are you happy with the reel. Pick up mine this week sometime. Cant wait.

Very Happy. Still yet to test the drag on a big fish but it casts beutifully. I get twice the distance I did with my old baitcaster(shimano calyx that was a gift so I don't know how good it was) and as long as I set it right and don't try and cast anything under 1/4oz, even that is pushing it, I get no birds nests. I am using 30lb braid and a med-heavy rod though so you my be able to go lighter with lighter line and lighter rod. I'm not sue.

Top effort and well done on the popper. Most folks still to achieve that I reckon.

even though the jack is undersized.. at least the rod is blessed with a good fish.. and on a lure! top work!
