chicken gut is a well known gun bait for big winter bream. the stuff stinks to high heaven tho. A trick i read in Brad smiths column in BnB was to add some bread crumbs to the bag of chicken gut as it will give you better grip on the slippery stuff when you're baiting up but also absorbs all the stinky oils and disperses that as berley with each cast .

Chicken breast is supposed to be a gun bait as well as fillet steak I'd rather eat the bait than the bream

    cheers, roo.

    Re: chicken

Chicken breast is the go aswell as the steak. My grandad was a butcher and that was all he used for his bream fishing for years...

Mate chicken breast is the number one bait for big bream they love it. Most of my big bream have all fallen to chicken breast biggest was 45cm caught in a gold coast canal during the day.
It's all part of the fishing experience

only problem I have with chicken breast fillet is the wifes wrath when I borrow it from the freezer to turn it into reel food.

    Hi Daz,

Yep, I saw a guy using chicken breast as bait last weekend, nabbed a nice Queenfish on it too.
Apparently he soaks it overnight in tuna oil for best results.
