Started out the afternoon at my mullet spot (see "Practice on mullet" on the Fly fishing board) and picked up a few good sized fish for strip baits and then headed over and fished the mouth of Brekky creek for the first time. Right on the turn of the tide I cast out and as the mullet strip hits the surface there is a huge boil as 6lb fireline starts pouring off my little Shimano reel. After much guessing as to the species up comes a 60cm Flattie.
Things went quiet for a while with a couple of hits, a 25cm Fingermark and a pike eel so I switch to a 3" Gulp minnow grub in Watermelon. First cast and four twitches of the rod tip and the Gulp gets nailed this time its a 45cm Flattie.
Was pretty happy with that so released the smaller of the two and called it a night.
