Big Trevs Little jacks

There has been some good fish around Tweed/GC lately. The last two weeks I have caught 8 small jacks and lost a decent one at my feet. One now resides in my fish tank and is doin well. Have also caught some decent flatties, Gt's and bream. They were all caught on Sp's, with squdgy flick baits and 2" berkley minnows doing the damage.

The last few nights have been great for trevs. First cast on one session and a 40m screaming run had me sweating. Ended up with 6 bigeyes all around 1.5-3kg and busted up 5 times with unstopables. Again the 3" flickbaits did the damage. They are 2 for $10 at ######### ATM so am stocking up.

Wow you certainly cleaned up. Was it catch and release or did you keep anything for the table? Landbased or boat? Regardless of how you fished for them the end result was a good one for you. Thanks for the heads up on the flickbaits.

hey mate well done on the fish AGAIN down there. they look very similar to the ones you have been getting alot of lately, are you sure you havent just taken pics of the same fish at different locations. ,only kidding mate well done great fish,keep it up.

Well done Pete, you sure have been cleaning up latley, considering you do all your fishin landbased, makes it even better. Jacks are awesome in the Tank, they have a real personality about them, and love smashin stuff on the suface!!

Poodroo- Yeah mate kept a little jack for the fish tank (from NSW so no size limit) and kept the biggest trev for xmas lunch. He was sick (bleeding from gills) and didn't look well anyway. Landbased aswell.

Geoff- The jacks were way smaller, but the trevs were much bigger than previous reports.

Matty_M- Yeah your not wrong. The jack is great, lots of personality.

Hey pete. Top report with some great pics as usual. That trev certainly is solid and must have given ya heaps. What lb line you using on em and the jacks?
Have to try get down your way some time soon before I jet off to the U.S.

Hey richie.

Using 6lb main and 6lb leader for the little jacks cause I had to downsize to get a bite.

14lb main and 25lb leader on the trevs and on bigger jacks. Still get hosed on the 14lb with some of the trevs though.
