Trevally and Bonito

Left the Goldy this morning with Joshy, aka Gone, very early for a NSW North Coast rock session. Conditions were very good, with no swell and minimal wind chop.

First hit using the medium size Roosta popper was massive and snapped 30lb braid where it joined the leader, drag was done up way to tight!! 10 minutes later landed a small big eye Trevally on the samller version of the Roosta. Things went a bit quite so throw out a 50g metal and landed a Bonito and lost another.

Then Joshy throw out the Roosta for one last go and hooked the biggest unstoppable yet off the stones, took lots of drag, but after an awesome fight made it back to his bommie, and did him like a dinner, using 30lb braid. More than likely a good sized Kingie. Off the rocks at 6am with conditions even better. Beautiful morning to be on the rocks.

Hey Pistol and Masterdusky,

Yeah fishin around Ballina, not saying exact ledge or every tom dick and harry will be there. But you can catch good fish all along the coast there from the rocks.
