    Nth Stradbroke over xmas

Spent a few days on Straddie over xmas, camping down on Main Beach. Fishing wasn't a priority this time but still got a few hours in. It was hit-and-miss with gutters around the camping area being average and I basically had to fish in front of camp most of the time.
Anyway, got a few nice dart in the 40-45cm range and had a few feeds.

There were better gutters to the north of the causeway and south towards the pin but I didn't really fish them.
    Thankfully no weed!!

By the way, is there a particular area that holds worms on straddie? I got sick of pippies and tried a few spots for worms but struggled to find many.

    Heya Chisel

Some nice solid dart there, they look in great condition.
Main beach and sick of pippis is not a good combination ummm never really noticed what I would call a specifically good area for worms over there. Although thinking about it there is a "bay" where it comes in close to the trees south of the Amity exit that often has a biggish spit form on the flinders end, that often holds reasonable numbers.

The first few K's south of George Nothling Drive usually has some decent worming areas but I usually just wander along the beach to I see probable section of beach and take it from there.

Any tailor put in an appearance at all?

Didn't even cast a pilchard or a lure for tailor. I suspect the gutter about 3ks north of the pin might have held some tailor after dark but it was xmas and I wasn't interested in night-fishing :-)

i camped main in march and had to travel to within a few km (2-3) of the lighthouse to find good numbers of decent fat worms. South of the causeway i could only find the odd juvenile worm. I felt the beaches were too flat and the competition from the plague proportions of pips were too much on most of the beach
