Townsville update
Hi guys,
Nothing special up here at the moment - the wind's been howling non-bloody-stop all hols.
Got out last week to have a go at fingermark but a damn northerly popped up from nowhere to kill our chances of fishing some of the marks North of Maggie Is. Came home with one stinking slatey!!
Fished the outgoing at Coco yesterday for a stonker 45cm grunter, a wee one that when stretched, was legal which I have just ate (steamed inside foil with marj, zest, garlic and s&p - B E A Uutiful!!) and a good sized buck crab that got entangled with my line.
Took the kids down to the river this arvo just below the weir - was lucky to hit a school of herring 1st cast of the net and had a great time as the tide-turn set in. Came home with a 60cm queenie (my first this far up the river), that I have just chucked into a pickling brew. Barra noticeable by their absence which is good 'cos I don't want to hook any rippers while its still closed season.
See y'all

Re: Townsville update
GO MOZZA,
60cm Queenie up that far is excellent. We have being rising early to get into some grunter however few keepers only. The weather has been a bit ordinary and when the north winds kicked in............the fish went off the bite.
Boxing day landed a 48cm grunter..................nice on the plate...........that was the first and only fish caught between 5am and 10am. Went down in the arvo new years day to catch a Turtle........poor bugger. Did some dentistry and he was happy to go. Caught my first Salmon on the same day,56cm. By about 6pm sharks came around and after catching 2..............packed up and will try again later.
I will be down at your spot on Friday arvo for some herring and big mullet.
Cheers
