Recently tested the 100series turbo over 450 km,pulling 17foot8in.
van with roof air/con. as well as roof racks and port-a-bote and all gear for boat .

Average was 5.5km/litre #through hills and 6.55km/litre on good level Hwy.

Over 1000km with only 2 people on board and light luggage average was 9.9km/litre

Agree with earlier poster that it would take a long time to recover extra cost of diesel engine.
But with auto and the extra power it is easy to keep with the traffic.
And much more relaxed travelling.No more having frustrated drivers passing on double lines.
