Hey Luskin, I have an old Hilux and am thinking about either what you have just bought or another Hilux. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it. My trouble is I tow a seafarer which weighs a bit more than the hornet
Sy, I have a GLXR Triton and tow my 435 hornet all over the place. On the high way i get about 13 l to the 100, thats sitting on about 105 ks.
I have a 1997 2.8 Diesel Triton and tow a 15' glass boat 90hp no prob set cruise at 100klm no worries
Tight lines <*)(((((((((><
I have the 04 model turbo Triton and tow a 4.8m Fisher platey with it. It eats it. I towed the rig to Proserpine and back without a problem. My mate alway remarks how much power it has.
Mate we have a 2005 GLS 2.8 turbo, we tow a 5.2m Stabicraft or a Jayco Outback Swan van (1000kg) it tows them without a problem. Liked it so much just got a 2006 GLX single cab (also 2.8 turbo). Had 5 Hiluxes before that but could no longer justify the "Toyota Premium Price".
Our GLS travelled 86000km in first 12 months and didnt miss a beat. Biggest test was South Coast NSW to Karumba FNQ towing the van fully laden - didnt disappoint!
