    PRADO on LPG

Has anyone converted a GXL Prado 3400V6, auto to LPG? Like to hear your experiences. Toyota dealer advises against it but Little Johnny may give rebates soon. Cheers.

mate had mine on gas for four months and is brilliant has not lost one bit of power and filling it up for 37 bucks instead of 90 helps a bit. your mechanic must be on the wrong planet.got valve saver on to help the engine .i tow a 4.5 plate boat and it hasnt even affected the performance of the wagon.as you can see its all good. good luck with your decision

Thanks for the reply. Toyota dealers don't make any money if you convert because they don't have the technology, so I guess that's why they advise against it. I'm very interested in converting. Did you have to get harden valves fitted (is that what you mean by valve saver???)? Where did you get it done? Cheers, Castlemaine.

I know the 4.5 liter cruiser engine burn valves on gas so look into it carefully.

I had a V6 hilux (practically the same engine) and had heard that gas was a no go. Made the engine run too hot or something like that. Look around some of the 4wd forums like overlander or 4wd monthly any you should find some more discussion on this topic.

    Cheers
