It's true . The maint workshop near where I work has done lots . He is using a N.Z. designed system . Normally aspirated or turbo apparently . Injects into the intake airstream at a reduced rate to a normal petrol conversion but the principle is similar . Injectors function as normal .

    Re: LPG kit for Diesel

Yeah when i use to race my truck i came across a few guys about 2 years ago in a winch challenge that had played around with that, a slight lpg injection into their air intake lines (just like nos) on their turbo diesels. They said it went better but they said they could only run a really light amount through due to the cold factor of the gas. Would be the go for 20% more power and economy if thats what they are bosting now. Solong as they have perfected it... MORE POWER>>

    Re: LPG kit for Diesel

Check out the web site for Diesel Gas Australia- Google will help you find it, #they have all the info on there. You can claim the Govvy rebate on the system too. The beauty of it is that if you run out of LPG then the engine just carries on using diesel as per normal. Finding room for the tank is one issue also would have to look at. The increase in power is certainly attractive, it would probably be wise to fit a Pyrometer to keep an eye on EGT's (exhaust gas teperatures) although I have been told that these are actually lower due to a more complete burn during combustion. Would be interested to hear any comments from people who have them fitted. A mate got a quote of $4000 for a 100 series Turbo Diesel with two 30 litre gas tanks fitted, less $2000 for the rebate, not bad really although I doubt 100 series Turbos really need much more grunt

    Re: LPG kit for Diesel

    G'day
Just phoned a bloke up on the sunny coast who does these. No available spot to get in until march '07

I quoted for my 1982 2.2L diesel hilux and it was $3500. This system can also be swapped to another vehicle for about $1200.

Certainly looks very attractive with $2000 cash back with the rebate, certainly something to do some serious figures on.

    Re: LPG kit for Diesel

Just had a yarn with the people who do them down the Gold Coast here who work nearby . Couple of things to know about it which may or may not be on the website . The 1800782527 number will set you right if you are serious .

At the moment they only do them at Currumbin and Caboolture . Average around $4000 with $2000 rebate for private vehicles under the GVM limit . Takes about 3-4 days depending on your vehicles complications for fitment . Add waiting queue time to that . #

Some existing exhaust mods and extras under the body can add time and cost to the job . E.G some 3'' exhaust systems or anything that restricts the mounting of the components . Performance is apparently noticeably better as well as economy . No - I'm not on a commission . . Hope it's of some help .
