    Products that actually work!

G'day people, after a couple of recent 4wd trips (posted in this section in recent times) my car was left with a few scratches in the duco as a result and today I got motivated to disguise them as best as I could which is what prompted me to write this thread. There are some products out there that we are left at the mercy of the salesperson who recommends them which when purchased either work sort of or they just blow you away because they work so well. The products that actually work well are the ones I am hoping my fellow Ausfishers will want to share with everyone. The product that "WOWED" me today was a car polish made entirely here in Australia called "Bowden's" Auto Body Cleanser and Auto Body Perfection. This product is pure magic in that it is easy to use and doesn't cost a million dollars. It is one of the more expensive products but there is just two bottles unlike Meguires which after you have bought the entire set will cost $100 plus and take all day to use. The Bowden's is not a cut polish either so when I saw all the scratches vanish I was more than impressed because the paint on the Pajero is not that thick anymore and I don't really want to be cutting it back. Does anyone else have a product that has impressed them? Feel free to share them as it is yet another opportunity where we can learn from one another on here. Here is a pic of my product of the week. It is available at Autobarn.

    Regards,

    Poodroo

You're welcome Roughasguts. Gee Choppa you are really a handy person to know. I will remember to keep these bottles because I am now sold on the stuff and will be using it all the time. It is really a great product.

    Thanks,

Great idea Poodroo. A tipfrom a car detailer I know... don't use armour all if you get lots of dust in your car!! It looks great for a day or two, then the dust sticks to it. It gets harder to clean the dust off and after a while will look constantly dirty. Just wipe the dash down regularly with a dry cloth. If you spill something on it use a damp sponge with mild detergent.

My lux is only a few months old and I will follow his advice, after all, he does clean my ute. The older ute does look older than its years, and Iused armour all on it from new. I'm in earthworks, so any way to kepmy utes cleaner for less gets my vote.

Poodroo, should have seen his face after Mt Mee. HaHaHa

LMAO Brett. I could imagine. My Pajero was looking quite the sight as well but I was mad enough to clean it up myself (which only happened just yesterday). Have been too busy to get the car clean in the past couple of weeks. Once clean the surface scratches were really noticeable and I was out of polish so the product that I gave a good wrap for is what I ended up with and then I had the brainwave which led me to writing up this thread. I think it is a good idea personally to give credit where credit is due and what better way to do it than posting those products on here. I have had so many products sold to me over the years that just didn't really deliver. Not sure why I made the car look good again however because it is going to get all muddy again this Saturday.

brett,,, a small tip here,,, a lot of the problem with armour all is in the application,,,ie most people spray it on and wipe it off straight away,,, and it leaves a film that attracts everything,,,and of course as it dries,,,leaves that dirty stained look,,

work uses a product called "reco sheen",,, which is the same composite as armour all,,,but has less viscosity (oil base),,and the trick is,,,spray it on and leave it until it dries,,,,then a clean cloth wipe over and it lasts for months,,,months

i was a non believer,, but i've done all my cars in it,,and truly,, you wipe it over when you clean your car with a cloth,,(i keep a handwasher in the truck) and it maintains a "as new finish"

if you use a ""vinyl" protection product,, reco sheen will take this away,,so diligence is required,,,but due to the water restrictions and the time i have avail to maintain the cars,,, the less time cleaning them the better

ask your detailer if he's heard of it,,,if not i've got some here for poodroo to try,,,only takes a small amount to do the whole car,,, we can send some your way
