Nice stuff! I've just finished rigging up some bridals on my existing jigs like you've got there on those Chaos', just to see how they'll go. Reckon it's worthwhile ditching the rear trebles?
How do sampsons go on the table? Firm white flesh?
i find a single top hook gives you at least 90% hook up.the fish tend tocome sideways and top down to eat the fish head first.fishing structures or very rocky bottoms i think the bottom treble hook might get hooked up to often.
i release all the fish i catch, but i have had a young samson of about 6kg for a fish bake(head ,tail, skin off)fish wrapped up in al foil spiced with all kinds of herbs and spices and either oven baked or on top of bbq and it came out very well.
i think a bigger fish would be to dry when cooked.
yes mate i have looked at fraser and i am just trying to find the time and right weather so i can take my boat up.i am really keen to get stuck into some gt's and amberjacks.can't wait to hear how your trip was.good luck .tight lines.
