    OFFSHORE MOOLOOLABA 14/01/06

Left Mooloolaba around 3.30am to explore more ground wide of Mooloolaba. Conditions were average on the way out but comfortable fishing. Plenty of snapper around with us getting a good feed and throwing back a few around the 2-4kg range. Hooked a small Black on the early morning floated pillie which only lasted 20 seconds. Nail some good size amberjack on the deep water jigging with a few unstoppables. Decided on releasing them as the freezer is already full of fish from last trip still. Did some trolling which resulted in rat size dollie's and hooking a sailfish around the 20-25kg mark. fight went for 15 minutes with the fish throwing the hooks 15m from the boat. Top day out and back at the ramp by 12pm.

Frank 00 the ambo's were mixed in with the pearlies on the flat ground, with the ledges not producing any decent hits.

A top effort Luke. Once you got through the inshore swell, it backed enough to make for comfortable fishing. Nice AJ you got there, what size jig were you using?

    Cheers

Big Ren, we're using 400gram jiggs with 50lb briad.

Goona, we were fishing North of the banks in 80m of water, which really makes the back hurt on the bigger fish.
