Wide Mooloolaba 15,01,06 no not Banks

Well what can I say not one of our better trips especially after seeing all the other reports that have been posted on Ausfish for the weekend. Looks like we should have gone to the Banks. We left the ramp at 3 am and headed out wide of Mooloolaba a fair bit south of the Banks. Anchored up on our favourite spot that we usually do pretty good on by 4am and with a few shows on the sounder things were looking good. A few drops and a couple of small squire of which is the usual scenario. Then we got a couple of decent snappery squire and things were looking good but after that not much more. I probably jinxed us saying to the boys we will bag out on snapper as I have been getting a little c_cky lately with the last 2 trips doing pretty well. We were lucky that a few Perlies and parrot made up for the lack in snapper. I thought things would change after Rob decided to help out the rest of the boys with a little man made berley but this did little to help with putting fish in the boat. We left there at 10 am as Stui had to be home by midday. At least we got a feed and all in all the boys did have a good day.

Hey Goona - Ditto to what Mark said - I reckon that's a GREAT catch mate. Well done - you put us to shame - all we managed on Sat was a 44cm pearlie and two tuskies.

Did you happen to measure your biggest pearlie of the day - looks like a stonker

    Well done again.

    Revs,
No swapping the Perlies. Been awhile since we got them as they have been pretty scarce of late.

    Vertico,
    Definately not!

    As above.

    Maccamania,
No didn't measure it, looked like it was legal size LOL. Pretty stoked when it came aboard though. We actually had an excellent show on the sounder with them being about 15m high in the water column. Told the boys we will deffinately get something in that and my prediction was right although they seemed to disperse pretty quick.

    Spiro,

I tend to agree the greasy old parrot is hard to beat. I have taken guys out that through them back stating they are s_it.
