    Great fish there mate...

Now that I am looking at the pictures a bit more closely?????

You would not happened to have been a computer programmer living in the UK during 1996? Did you ever go on a bank holiday weekend trip across to Amsterdam where you helped to finish a slab of beer we even got off the ferry in France. When the coach broke down, you were not the guy who walked into an electric fence???

If not, then my appologies for the mistaken identity. If yes, then I was the South African who arranged the beers for breakfast every morning.

    Regards

Very nice piccies Rod. From the look of the kingy pic it looks like the Bionic is spooled on a Saltiga 6000GT. What stick have you matched it up to? It looks a real weapon. I am just wondering have you tried any of the YGK braid or other colour-coded braid or do you much prefer Harro's for your jig work?

    Cheers

Its teamed up with one of the new E-Grell Jig Rods. I use the colour coded braids quite a bit but normally just use TUNA TERROR . Its well priced and I have had it on my saltiga for more than a year. I think that most of those braids are pretty good mate. The newer ones are getting thinner all the time so its a personal preference I think.

Rod, Have to agree with you Rod about the Tuna Terror. Although it doesn't seem quite as waxy as the YGK IMO, it's still does a bloody good job. I was lucky to score some PE8 on the cheap so that's the only reason I am using it on my Expedition atm, teamed up with a Calstar grafighter blank. Haven't seriously put it to the test yet so it's still a virgin . Appreciate your advice though. You nailed some great fish on the jigs last year so obviously the TT is well up to it.

    Cheers

Yeah I was very suprised that it has lasted as long as it has. It is not even colour coded anymore and at the price I paid I would have expected it to have been tossed by now. Yup , looking forward to the jigging season again and some backbreakers. That Marlin was a good test of that TT because it was pretty intense close range action for a while. They must just hang on a bit cos still need to catch a few more ooglies this summer. Where are you based Paul ?

Re: Yellowfin,Kings And trevs down the Tweed.

    Hi Rod

I'm up at Kawana on the Sunny Coast. I have Tuna Terror on an Okuma overhead and it is definitely lighter in colour than the YGK so I am not surprised yours has faded a little over time. Must still be up to the task if you're playing billies at close quarters. Might need to hang onto it a little longer I reckon The one thing I have noticed though is that the waxier YGK if much easier to plait doubles for example than the TT, just my opinion though. Hope the ooglies keep you busy over the next month or so. It looks like the macks are showing up here in better numbers atm so that will give us some fun for sure. Also looking forward to devirginising my outfit asap.

    Cheers mate
