Well Simon sounds like you had a good overnighter trip hey I've noticed the bigger the spangles smell to not sure why
Headed out on Saturday afternoon in great conditions. The trip to the northernend of the banks took just over one hour (from Mooloolaba). Being a newcomer to this territory we tried a few spots for not much action for the first hour or so. At about 5.00pm the snapper came on the chew. We got about 8 or 9 before dark and a couple after dark. At about 8.00pm one of the boys got a huge Spangled Emperor that pulled like a freight train. When we got him into the boat we noticed he was on the nose big time!!!!!!! We put him in the kill tank and tried to get a few hours sleep.
At about 5.00am the snapper came back on so we could complete the bag (4 people). We also managed a gold spot and a couple of parrot. We did notice that when we lifted the lid on the kill tank the spangled had stunk the whole thing out. DO YOU RECKON THE SNAPPER ARE SAFE TO EAT AFTER BEING IN WITH THE SMELLY SWEETLIP?
Sorry but no pics this time - will be sure to take the camera next time.
