What a top start to the year for you Mark...first a black, now a sail, next trip the shelf for a blue I reckon. Great effort. I was just wondering whether Johno's right hand was tingling after handling the sail's slime?

As for the shark, I don't think it's a blue shark, more like some form of reef whaler from looking at the pic.

Cheers and there's a few more pics for the next BnB.

as rob said the "rope" is a parasite....get them on alot of the fish.

Mitch, thats the way it goes .... this bill fishing is more of a team effort to land them anyway and I enjoy driving the boat during a fight.

Never would have guessed that was a parasite. It looked and felt like rope. You learn something every day

Two Dogs. I ruled out a mako based on pictures I found. Not really similar, although it had the right attitude. Even started jumping straight at the boat glad it was small cause it was angry

Mick (outwide1), thanks for your comments and welcome to the site. Bill fishing sure is addictive. Catch you out there some time

Big Ren, exactly what I was thinking. Look out shelf here I come. Do you think I could stop a blue with 24kg on a TLD25. Oh well, it would be fun trying.

Yep Jeffo, both on the two hook rig. They are doing the job at the moment. 2 for 2 on bills and 9-9-8 all up.

    Cheers,

    Mark

I'm for 70% Normally, the adult blue shark has longer pectorals but this being a juvenile it may be different. Caught a couple of blues in the UK and they jump as well as a mako when they feel like it. Just a thought...........I find it amazing that sharks such as blues and makos are *so* adaptable that they are even caught in the colder waters (in summer) around the UK.
