Was out off Maroochydore last weekend and at one point there where what looked like large mactuna working on the surface. I tried casting into the schools with various sized chrome slices from 2.5cm, 7 cm and 10cm with nil result on any. I was definetly dropping the lures into the schools but they wouldn't play the game. I was cranking as fast as I could on a 5.2:1 ratio reel. Have you guys got any ideas to help if I find myself in that frustrating situation again?....ed
You need to try and get a higher ratio reel, the slug has to be screaming for those Tuna & Mackerel to play the game. Also try tiny little slugs like 14 gram River 2 Sea in different colours. Match the hatch. Mind you some days they just dont play the game.
