Yes it certainly is a dream but is also doable ,with the right weather in a small boat , and if you can put in the hours and perhaps a bit of luck (time and chance happens to every man )
It can be tough putting in the days trolling for zippo but in the end the scream of the reel (especially a tiagra 80w ,the v8s of fishing reels ) will bring me back time and time again
    regards Craig
ps its a terrible addiction this type of fishing

It certainly is very addictive Craig.

Gav (Gavsgonefishing) and I trolled more than 100 nautical miles last week for two smallish mahi mahi and went searching yesterday for a few billies around Mooloolaba 10 mile for a solitary school yellowfin. We will be back!! It's great fun.

    Cheers

Re: 1 hoo and biggest Blue

Gday Kimo , i grew up in Adelaide and appreciate your lack of such fish down south . The grounds we fish are 16-20 mile from tweed and only do it when the weather is good . My boat is a 585 haines and is considered small for the fishing i undertake . Mainly because if the weather turns sour it can be a long way home . Because of this i usually do a lot of half days and am back before the wind has a chance to get me .

    longliners make me physically sick!

nice fish- we know the joint would be crawling with fish; if sensible restrictions were place on the the east coast longline fishery. time for "deptments" to earn their money! and stop the raptis rapist's
    haha

Thanks Craig , I manage a trip to Bermagui or Jarvis bay every so often so I have managed a few blacks and a stripe as well as a few tuna but looks like you blokes are in gods own country .

Damon read a post last night about long liners at Bermagui I think last week catching enourmouse amounts of marlin and dumping them to bring the price back up .

Talking and complaining to each other dose nothing you need to unite and lobby to bring about changes and this needs doing now as it may already be to late .
    Cheers KIMO
