Barwon Banks today - Wed Apr 12

Just thought I'd give you a pre Easter report - in case the weather holds up for the weekend.
Fished the southern end on the gravel patch at the Barwon Banks today.
Lots of mixed reef species, biggest snapper was only around 4kg.
A few unstoppable AJ's - biggest landed was around 15kg.

Perfect conditions, almost no current - a 4 ball was hitting bottom.

My mate's nephews had a ball.
Check out conditions in the background.

    Hi Nugget.

What time were those photos taken?

I was at the yellow marker (much closer in) between 6.45am and 9.30, and it was awful .... very choppy (at least for me)

    We left Mooloolaba at 6am.
Hit the Banks about an hour later.
Conditions were almost perfect on the way out - just a slight sea.
( I was in a 38 foot game boat - Flat Dog Charters)
About 3/4 of the way there it flattened out to almost a glassout - as you can see in the background.
I think the further we went out the calmer it got.
Stayed that way till around 9 or 10am (I'm guessing as I didn't check the time) then we had a little breeze but almost nothing to speak of.
There was almost no current and a very light breeze.

You couldn't have wished for a better day.

Mate the boat is nice - very comfortable and the skipper seems like a great bloke - I can usually pick the wallies - Allan was genuine.

I've mentioned Flat Dog Charters on 4BC a few times but wanted to have a fish with them so I can genuinely recommend them.
No complaints this end - great boat, great skipper - a quality operation.

You got me there mate? - No idea.
But a blue boat is high on the list!
I've torture testing a few hulls lately - some shockers that I hesitate to take over a bar and some really good performing hulls that are well above their peers.
Decision is getting close - stay tuned.
