The pearlies were on early. This one went 3.5kg
I headed out with Johno this morning to explore some new areas up around the hards. The conditions were unbelievable with totally calm conditions most of the day. It only picked up to about 10 knots for a couple of hours and then dropped back to zero again. I love days off work
We found plenty of variety, catching snapper, pearlies, trag, maori cod, glod spot wrasse, parrot, hussar, and even a flathead Because we were exploring, we put the lures out for about an hour, while we marked new spots, but only managed a couple of tuna.
Here are some pictues of form the day.
The pearlies were on early. This one went 3.5kg
Check out the conditions.
The snapper were smashing everything this morning. As soon a bait was within 10m of the bottom, it got hammered real hard. Tehy were mainly smaller one like this, but some better ones were mixed in.
one of the better ones
A solid maori cod
This one is mainly for the conditions .... not the little hussar
Last one. Tuna from the hour we spend trolling and marking new ground
Cheers,
Mark

Geez Mark, i don't like seeing fish and conditions like that on a saturday morning sitting at home. Top fish, and perfect conditions. Looks like you may have found some good ground up there. I'm with chris, getting pretty itchy feet to get out there.
