After much antisipatation finally had the weather and the crew all in allignment for my first trip to the BANKS. After reading endless posts of awsome fish being I finally had a go. Three of us left through the Noosa river mouth at 3 am with about 2 to 3 foot of swell on the bar in my Allison 189 with a merc 4 stroke efi on the back. Headed straight east for hour and ten averaged 30n klm per hour in the dark to get 45 klm out to our first drop we had around seven other boats in the same area. First fish to come aboard was a squire followed by a pearl perch of reasonable size. After 30 mins of burleying the action didn't stop with parrot pealies and snapper up to 3 kilo coming on board. With around 15 fish in the box we headed north for 4 klm and droped the pick on some not so good looking ground. Burleyed up and first floaoting pilly down for two of us resulted in 5 kilo plus snapper and the fun didn't stop till it shut down by 10n am result
15 snapper 4 over 4 kilo two over 5
3 Rosy Job fish around 3 klio
5 pearlies
5 tuskies
2 gold spot wrasse
1 tomato cod around 4 kilo
The ride home was even quicker at 40 klm an hour in perfect water with a rolling swell helping us home...
All in all the best fishing I've done from Noosa.
