    Moolooabha

    Hi

Went to kawana boat ramp this morning to try and get a quick fishing fix in.

We arrived at around 3 am and there was a bit of wind and rain around but thought we would just try some where close like murphies and try and pick up a feed.

Once we turned the corner of the river mouth there was a fairly heavy swell running around the 2 metre mark but as we where keen as mustard we decided it was probably be fishable and sat on ten knots the hole way out.

When we arrived out on the mark there was a container ship around the same area and the swell was that big we were losing site of him from time to time. After trying to get on top of the mark we both realized that if we were to stay it would be stupid and decided to head back in (didn't even drop a bait).

The only good thing that come out of this trip was it was the easiest clean up i have ever had to do and have everything ready to go for next time...

    cheers pete....

Ha ha, That must have been a burnt for you...The only worse thing is when the weather man gets it wrong. I have done that aswell about 4 times! Perfect day, perfect conditions, fresh bait, and the mate i chose to fish with started hurling straight away once we stopped. Even after taking all the pills i pumped into him the night before. So no baits down and away we go back in again! Atleast to did as much as you could and gave it a go..

    G'day Pete,

We were all set to fire up but I called it last night after talking to a couple of mates that had friends out yesterday....bit glad we didn't waste our time heading up from Logan.

Seabreeze has been a little off lately...hopefully we start to get a more accurate prediction soon...oh well...next time

    Cheers

Conditions were aweful all right. We punched our way out to Wide Caloundra this morning and it took 2 hours to do just under 40km. Left Mooloolaba about the same time you did.

We still managed to get a mornings fishing in but it wasn't comfortable.

    Cheers,

    Mark

Gidday Pete. Glad we didn;t go when you guys did. The swell had dropped off somewhat when we headed out at about 4pm Satuday....but we were back in by 8pm after the deckie lost his lunch too many times Skip at Kawana BaitnTackle said that the morning swell was even too big for a 23ft shark cat that turned around not far past the Gneerings...

One of our crews. had to go out and escort a cat in yesterday., he couldnt find south passage, so the skipper made a call and had to take him home round the top of cape Moreton.

2 to 2.4 swell with best part of a metre of slop on top of it.

The bar was very sad they tell me.

Yet the Bay was glassed out all day.... go figure
