We had a good day out on the boat yesterday .. hooked 4 lost 2, got two the
the boat .. got lucky on one as mates reel handle broke while reeling in
.. then it was a team effort .. me with rod .. and chris(mate) hand
turning spinning reel bail .. .. what a blast biggest fish i've ever
caught .. 22.5 and 23.5 kg(mine). but thats off bathroom scales
so .. could be more .. bottomed out my 22kg/50lb scales. it was all dramas .. the first fish was also lucky i guess .. as we towed it around for about 10 mins ... first time gaffing .. and what do ya know .. went for the fish .. got it and my hand slide right off .. so we where chassing around a bobbing wood handled gaff with a fish at the side of the boat ..
ps. time to buy a gaff.
have to thank the two different boats that lent us there gaffs.. didn't get the first guys name but if your here thanx mate .. and rocky(riviara flybridge) .. thanx mate ..

they're some very nice cobes, especially for a first. Where'd you go? looks like the broadwater in the background. Time to get a new gaff aswell hey
