    Banks Trip

My dad, bro in law and my self decided to go out to the banks early saturday morning to test out the new FURUNO FCV620, launched at mooloolaba ramp at around 7:30am, got to spot x at the northern banks around 9ish, fishing was very slow early on but slowly picked up around mid day, tried to anchor a few times but we found drifting was the way to go as the fish didnt seem to want to stay in the same spot, we also ventured out around 10km past the northern banks into some 100mtr + waters with little results, so went back to the banks before heading off home.

The FCV620 is an awsome sounder, put us on some very good fish.

We ended up with 2 good Venus Tusk Fish and 3 good Snapper and some unstopables which were to close to the reefs, and also a flathead to my suprise, hell of a drive to catch a flatti hehe

Looking at the wave height recordings for Mooloolaba yersterday (15th) it shows that the sea did settle, but down to 2 metre waves.

My guess is that this is Saturday 8th July not yesterday.

Please tell us it was last week Astro, this is killing us that are wanting to get out again.
