hey guys, weather looked good sunday arvo so planned a trip close to the cape to try for something other than snapper. Left manly boat ramp at 1130 and headed to the four beacons to jig up some livies had a bait tank full of scad and pike in a hour so headed up the cape in perfect conditions. we were planning on fishing sundown so had plenty of time and decided to troll a few lures for a while for no luck when we pulled up on the mark there were good shows on the sounder but the wind was starting to blow from the ne and there was a fair bit of current running from the south which made it very hard to anchor correctly so after trying 4 times to sit right decided it would be to hard to fish and headed wide of the cape again to get a few snapper. arrived there about 5;00 and first baits in hooked up to average squire which were released in hope of bigger fish. the next couple of drifts saw us land a handfull of snappery squire soon as the sun went down the fish shut down and the wind startied blowing about 20 - 25 knts ne so called it a night with a few fish for a feed. the run back to the cape was ordinary to say the least but the bay was still quite flat. we arrived at manly about 930 and went home for a much needed warm shower.
