Hi all, just thought you might want to have a look at a few cobia caught yesterday off shore from Brunswick.
The southerly wind had a bit of a kick to it so we decided to find some livies before heading out wide.
The problem was we found a great school of slimies and yakkas on a secret little rock that is normally a great provider of big slimies, but couldnt get them to the surface quick enough!
Once the first slimie did make it up on the jig it was pinned on a adjustable floater rig and deployed straight back down.
It didnt take long and the suck and rattle of cobia was detected, fed him a bit more line and whammo, hook-up.
For the next few hours we had a ball although the conditions were sloppy.
Lost quite a lot of fish also due to striking too early.
Didnt make it out wide, but hey, as the old saying goes
"Dont leave fish to catch fish".
Cheers
