    A Hinchinbrook Black

    Hi guys

After spending last last weekend in yeppoon for the ANSA Q state conference , which i must say was a top weekend and it was great to a meet aheap of new people within the sportsfishing scene , (How are you smithy i'll keep you posted on the arties)Anyway after all the talk about fishing i was pretty keen for a fish so when i got a call from a mate while i was on my way home asking if i would like to go chase a billy the next day a couldn't say yes quick enough.
So the next morning at about 7 we were heading out of Port Hinchinbrook in a 40 ft Blackwatch called "Moonshine" within 45 minutes we were outside the green zone and had a nice spread of pakula 6 inchs chugging away nicely . Within half an hour mick gave a yell from the flybridge to get ready we had just gone over a big bait ball with fish all over it, as he said that i looked around to see a lit up black of about 35 kilo coming flying in on the short rigger then turn straight in a smash the short corner just of the back of the boat . We were on i had strike so here i was onto a fiesty little black on six kilo string . After 45 minutes of jumping and tail walking all over the ocean we had the tag in you beauty.
Out with the gear and back over the mark and a double hook up the lures hadn't even been in the water 5 minutes we dropped on but the other one stuck so after about 30 minutes in went the tag , 2 from 3 and it had just gone 10 . A friend was out in his 5.5m half cabin and he had been trolling as well and he hooked up not long after we hooked the second one , so 3 marlin taged in a bit over a hour how good is this .
Anyway after a few more hours and a couple of nthern blues we decided to call it a day . I must say it wasn't a bad to come home to this after 3200klms over 10 days and 5 of that was in brissie traffic , how bad has that got in the last 2 years . Sorry the report is a bit old i had some computer problems when i got back but all fixed now.
Loving the bluewater this time of year
    Cheers
    Ben
