Trolled Cape Cleveland this morning and within 5 minutes of dropping both lures in the drink I was on, not for long however the leader gave way (there goes my brand new Rapala Magnum) - Not a good start.
Slapped on a Halco Laser Pro which my son got me for fathers day last weekend, and 10 minutes later I was on again. 20 minutes later I had him aboard, estimated weight around 15kg. Trolled around for a further 1/2hr or so and only got a single hit on a Bomber lure, but no more mackos. Saw a couple of whales leaping out of the water around 3kms off the cape so we decided to go and have a look. By this time the wind had picked up so we decided to come home. Punched into a stiff 15-20knt wswly on the way back, was pretty uncomfortable.
All in all was a good morning, was back at the ramp by 9.15am
