Good onya Mick, nice catch and good to see a local reef report. Dont get too excited about the trout in the new boat, in the first few weeks of having my boat i got a great trout in North Entrance, havnt caught a trout in my rig for about 3 years now

    Cheers

Thanks for that Nomad. Thats why your glass is always half empty and mine is half full
The first trip out on the harbour when I first came to Gladstone was to just inside rat island with my father in law in an old 12 ft tinnie . We picked up 3 nice trout and a swag of nice red throat and tuskies. Ive never done as well there since. We were only fishing in about 6 ft of water
Big Ren they tell me that when they have been in real deep water for a while they end up with those dark patches although in Grants guide to fishes Ern talks about certain colour changes that they have through their growth periods.

A good catch Mick. Good to see a trout from the shoals. It's one of those spots, hit or miss.
