Finished work friday arvo and headed straight out to the northend end of the banks with paul my deckie for the trip.
Not to bad a run out taking around about an hour and a half to arrive on our first spot where we were targeting snapper and pearlies. We had about half a dozen snapper in the box and a few pearlies in no time and then as it went dark things seem to quieten down so we made the call to try some new ground in shallower water.
On arriving on this spot we pulled a couple of nice snapper and some quality sweetlip and a few other bits and pieces and decided to camp on this spot for the night and see what the morning brought.
We woke at 4.30 fished this spot as the sun come up but just didn't seem for fire at all so we up anchored again and did some drifts around with paul getting a nice coronation trout which was a nice surprise.
We both had enough by this stage so started to head home and come across a cut anchor rope on the surface so we pulled up on this spot and the anchor was wedged onto some nice ground so we decided to have a drop resulting in another 2 yellowtail kingies and another couple of squire.
And we also scored a nice new anchor and a heap of rope for our troubles.
Back at the ramp by 2 pm with the hint of the wind about to pick up.
Cheers pete...
